Plum torte
Variation A (amalgamation of original and Kenji's version)
Ingredients
- 90g to 120g sugar
- 113g butter
- 125 flour
- 5g baking powder
- Optional pinch of salt
- 2 eggs
- 24 halves pitted purple plums
- Sugar, lemon juice
- Optional cinnamon
- Optional Vanilla extract/vanilla sugar
Recipe
- Heat oven to 178C (350F).
- Mix the sugar and butter in a food processor.
- Add flour, baking powder, salt and eggs to the mix.
- Spoon the batter into a cast iron pan.
- Place the plum halves skin side down on top of the batter.
- Sprinkle sugar and lemon juice.
- Optional Sprinkle with about 4g of cinnamon.
- Bake 50 minutes, approximately. Check with a cake tester.
Variation B
Use Apple instead of Plum.
