dorotac on filesystems
I discovered this talk titled "My files are a mess. Why??? The past and future" by dorotac[^fn:1].
Fascinating way to "accidentally" trip and fall on shoelaces as a nice analogue to the premise of the talk. But, of course, the points raised also resonate with me.
The question about if the photo metadata editor/searcher program is a filesystem is very intriguing.
The talk goes into a brief history of hierarchical file systems, their problems and what has been in development since then e.g. perkeep, ipfs.
Very interesting talk overall and I plan to rewatch this properly again with a fresher brain.
